Prompts in honor of the Royal Wedding...

So my daughter came home from school today and told me that she would need to wear her best dress to school tomorrow.  Her teacher is asking all of the students to dress up for the Royal Wedding.  In order to take advantage of this occasion, I put up a few prompts that could be used to keep the students'...or teacher's...interest.

Speculative Prompt
Today is the big day for one lucky young woman.  After years of planning, she is finally going to marry the man of her dreams...an actual Prince of England.  Getting ready for the wedding, she keeps thinking that there is something that she must be forgetting.  Write a story about the young woman, what she may be forgetting, and how she solves her problem before the wedding starts.
Persuasive Prompt
The Queen of England has sent a request to school children across the United States.  As a show of good faith, she is offering one child an their family an all-expenses-paid week in England which, includes an invitation to the royal wedding and a stay in Buckingham Palace, the home of the Royal family.  In order to be considered for this trip, the Queen is asking those interested to send her a letter explaining why the child's family should be considered for the trip.
Write a letter explaining why your family should be given this opportunity.  Use examples and other evidence to support your position.
Quote-based Prompt
You hear the following quotation on TV, relating to the Royal wedding and have to consider what it means to you: "A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person." -Mignon McLaughlin
Write an essay explaining what this quote means to you.  Be sure to use details and examples as you write.

Hope these help!  If you're planning on watching the wedding, enjoy the spectacle :-)
